The Historic District Commission

About the Commission

The application for a Certificate of Appropriateness is reviewed by the OWE Historic District Commission.

The Historic District Commission has the authority to approve or deny an application and decisions are based on the Commission’s interpretation of the Standards for Rehabilitation, the testimony of the applicant and other interested parties, and most importantly, the effect of the Commission’s decision upon the applicant.

Public Meetings

Meetings of the OWE Historic District Commission take place at 5:30 PM – 2nd Monday of the Month – at Collingwood Presbyterian Church, 2108 Collingwood Blvd, Toledo, OH 43620

Meetings are open to the public and residents of the Old West End are encouraged to attend to learn more about the process.
