Golf Carts
Starting in 2020, OWE Festival no longer facilitates golf cart rentals.
Reminder
We know many neighbors and friends rent golf carts for Festival. Please keep in mind the rules for driving golf carts on our streets, and share with any friends or family that may be driving a golf cart during Festival. Here are a few things to be mindful of:
Children under the age of 16 and those without a valid driver’s license may not operate Golf Carts. They may be stopped and removed from the Cart.
Do not operate Golf Carts under the Influence of Drugs or Alcohol or with Open Containers of Alcohol. You can get a DUI while operating a Golf Cart.
Obey traffic laws while using Golf Carts. Drive the correct way on one-way streets, obey traffic signs and signals, and yield to pedestrians. Driving Carts on Sidewalks presents hazards to pedestrians.
A reminder that most rental carts are not technically legal for use on public roadways. Please keep this in mind while operating your cart if it does not have a license plate and has not passed the required City of Toledo inspection.
Car insurance may not cover an incident involving a rented golf cart. Be aware of the terms in your rental agreement, and whether or not your auto and/or homeowners insurance covers damages and accidents.
Law enforcement or Security may stop people. Please be respectful of the community and respectful of the fact that law enforcement may look the other way and allow unlicensed carts to operate on our neighborhood streets for this special occasion.
